Bon Bon Bon Aoyama Sweets Festival 

Bakeries, patisseries and coffee shops will gather from all over Japan.

Autumn vegetables like pumpkin, peppers and mixed salad greens have started to appear at the market.  Autumn fruit like apples, persimmon, grapes and oranges are in full bloom.  Sweet, sour, juicy with crispy textures that explode in the mouth.  This is one of the best times of year to cook. 

Recently the Cambodia fermented pepper maker is at the market.  Such an easy way to add flavor to simple poached or fried eggs – add a little crushed pepper and the flavors sing!  He also has a cute mortar and pestle carved from palm tree that is easy to use and helps release the flavors of the peppercorns.

Mushrooms like shitake, maitake and matsutake can also be found.  Perfect for an Autumn pasta like tagliatte or washoku style shio yaki grill.
